• Increase your understanding of the process of HM Inspection and Review
• Improve your knowledge of How Good is Our Community Learning and Development? (2) as a tool for self-evaluation
An Inspector Calls is a half day consultancy workshop for up to 15 participants.
Sheila Brown, HMIe will give us an overview of the current policy context for Inspection and Review and help us to explore a particular strand from HGIOCLD? (2). We’ll be looking at practical ways in which participants can evidence their work under “5.10 Improving Services” focusing on what it would take to achieve an assessment of Excellent under this strand. Following this half day – as part of the consultancy, there is an opportunity if participants wish to take this up, to meet individually with HMIe colleagues to receive additional support.
Context
Her Majesty’s Inspectors carry out inspections to evaluate the outcomes and impacts of Community Learning and Development (CLD) activities including adult learning in local areas. These inspections focus on the work in communities of relevant local authority services and their partners in the voluntary sector as well as in other public bodies. They aim to give organisations fast and detailed feedback to help them improve provision and provide stakeholders with clear messages on the quality of CLD provision.
