The 8th Fair Trade Experience, at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, will bring together Fairtrade speakers from across the world, 40+ exhibitors, live world music, fairtrade comedy, free kids activities and much much more for all the family to enjoy.

In 2010 we will celebrate our 8th Fair Trade Experience! This event has grown to be one of the biggest Fair Trade events during Fairtrade Fortnight and attracts speakers from across the globe. Over 4,000 visitors this year enjoyed browsing the over 35 Fair Trade stalls, a fantastic line-up of speakers that included; Jose Manuel Ocampo Lopez from Colombia, Alex Chalmas from Bolivia, Nasser Abufarha from Palestine, John McAllion from Fair Trade Scotland Campaign and John Riches, founder of the Just Trading Scotland. The weekend also had a variety of kids workshops, comedy, live world music and free tastings made for another hugely successful weekend event.

Over the years we have had visiting fairtrade speakers from Ghana, Southern Burkina Faso, Malawi, Kenya, Colombia, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Palestine and Brazil, Tanzania, as well as other notable speakers from across the globe and the UK Government.

In 2010, The Fair Trade Experience aims to provide a platform for:

International Fairtrade speakers from Palestine Kenya and Chile Key speakers from The Co-operative, The Scottish Fair Trade Forum and The Fairtrade Foundation as well as Minister for Culture & External Affairs, Fiona Hyslop MSP. Businesses from across the UK who see this event as the UK’s flagship Fairtrade Fortnight event Media collaboration through local and national media which grows year on year FREE kids activity workshops to engage young people to Fair Trade Live world music as well as music from schools and theatre group Hopscotch Live VJ Fashion show Live link from Ghana via satellite Fairtrade comedy & footie stunts from our resident Graeme Lightbody who recently achieved 65,000 in one sitting........

This is a Scotland wide event and with excellent transport networks attracts day and weekend visitors. The event has several key elements that come together to ensure maximum visitor & Fair Trade business participation
