Sally Romilly recognised for huge Fair Trade contribution

IDEAS would like to congratulate Sally Romilly of One World Centre in Dundee on her fantastic achievement of winning the Special Recognition Award at the Scottish Fair Trade Awards last month.

The judges said that she had demonstrated consistent outstanding commitment to Fair Trade and continually made significant achievements through Fair Trade campaigning.

"Sally – who was one of the founding members of the Dundee Fair Trade Forum and was instrumental in helping Dundee achieve Fairtrade City Status in 2004 - has shown commitment to Fair Trade for over 20 years. Her role as a Global Learning Adviser at the One World Centre involves ensuring teachers are equipped to teach global citizenship topics including Fair Trade, but her commitment for Fair Trade has extended beyond that, as she has dedicated a lot of her own time and effort to the promotion and education of Fair Trade."

"Sally has been responsible for organising events including Fairtrade breakfasts, football festivals, tasting sessions, an annual stall at the Dundee Flower Show and Food Festival, as well as arranging visits to schools for several overseas producers."

This award could not have gone to a better person!
