Calls for Climate Change Plan to be strengthened

MSPs published their response to the Scottish Government's draft Climate Change Plan last week, saying they were 'disappointed at the lack of detail' and calling for a number of improvements to be made.

This afternoon (16 March 2017) the plan is to be debated in the Scottish Parliament.

Stop Climate Chaos Scotland said "We're pleased to see the committees listening to the evidence of coalition members and the public, and calling for more detail and clear timescales for how greenhouse gas emissions will be cut."

MSPs called for more to be done to reduce emissions from transport, agriculture and heating, which make up the majority of Scotland's emissions.
