Global citizenship and LfS online training opportunity

Highland One World is offering a free online professional learning opportunity for upper primary and secondary teachers across Scotland to increase skills and confidence in delivering education for global citizenship and Learning for Sustainability.

This practical course aims to:

build your confidence and understanding of global citizenship and its links to national and international priorities;
support you to embed global citizenship within learning and teaching;
support your planning of a global citizenship topic;
encourage you to reflect on the impact on your own and your pupils' learning;
develop your professional dialogue skills and contribute to your professional update;
encourage you to share your learning with colleagues.

Each week you will be required to participate in some practical activities, reflection and discussion. This should take approximately one hour per week for five weeks, at a time that suits you. You will then be asked to try out some activities or ideas in the classroom before you return for the final online reflection and sharing session in September 2018.

This course, starting on 18 April, will run over an initial five weeks, with a follow-up session in September 2018 focussing on reflection and sharing good practice.
