On behalf of DFID, the Department for International Development, IDEAS administered the Development Awareness Mini-Grants Fund each year in Scotland.
Up to £10,000 per year was available for 1-3 year projects committed to raising awareness of global interdependence, the need to reduce poverty and the roles individuals can play by making informed choices. This fund was for not for profit organisations.

The Eagle's Kingdom
Preference was given to projects which were innovative, demonstrated a partnership between traditional development education organisations and organisations new to development education, seeking to engage new audiences, contribute to capacity building at a local or regional level, faith groups, trade unions and/or are led by or involve BME organisations.
