The Development Education Centres (DECs) are in Aberdeen, Coatbridge, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness and cover all Scottish Local Authorities from these regional bases.

DECs offer high quality Career Long Professional Learning (CLPL) opportunities and innovative learning and teaching projects. We support educators at all levels in incorporating global citizenship in the classroom, across whole schools or learning communities. For up-to-date information the work of individual centres, please click the links in the table below.

The DECs are in receipt of core funding from the Scottish Government until March 2016. The interim independent evaluation of the first year of this funding , carried out by Northern Starr Associates and published in summer 2015 is available. You can also access the final Stakeholder Report and Stakeholder Evaluation Summary and the full final evaluation report will be available from April 2016. They are also currently the regional providers of the Global Learning Programme Scotland.
